What This Policy Covers
This policy applies to the SeeWho browser extension, the SeeWho website, and related support and billing operations. It explains what data is collected, how it is used, where it is stored, and who it is shared with.
Data We Collect
SeeWho collects the minimum data needed to run the product:
- Account and sign-in data: user ID, email address, display name, profile photo URL, sign-in method, account timestamps, and plan/entitlement fields.
- Billing data: user ID and email sent to our billing backend to create checkout and billing-portal sessions.
- Feedback data when you submit feedback: category and message text that you choose to send.
- Support inbox flags and support messages tied to your user ID.
- Local extension data on your device: tracked Instagram usernames, scan history snapshots, settings, reminders, and dismissed support message state.
Instagram Data Handling
SeeWho reads Instagram profile, follower, and following data through your own logged-in browser session to perform scans. We do not ask for your Instagram password.
- Follower and following scan history is stored locally in your browser.
- We do not send scan history, scan snapshots, or scan-result data to our servers.
- Server-side data is limited to account/login and purchase/billing records, plus support or feedback content you explicitly submit.
How We Use Data
We use collected data to provide and operate SeeWho:
- Authenticate users and keep account sessions working.
- Apply scan limits and paid entitlements.
- Run checkout and billing portal flows.
- Process and respond to user feedback and support requests.
- Display targeted support messages to users who enabled support inbox.
Where Data Is Stored
Data is stored in different places based on purpose:
- Local browser storage on your device: scan history and most extension state.
- Firebase Authentication / Firestore for account data, entitlement fields, feedback submissions, and support-message docs.
- Cloudflare Worker backend for payment session requests and payment event processing.
- Dodo Payments for payment processing and billing portal data.
Who Data Is Shared With
We share data only with service providers needed to operate SeeWho:
- Google for authentication and database operations.
- Cloudflare for backend worker infrastructure.
- Dodo Payments for checkout, subscription management, and billing portal features.
- Instagram endpoints requested directly by your extension for scan functionality.
- Legal or regulatory authorities when required by law.
Data Retention
We retain data only as needed for product operations, support, accounting, legal compliance, and fraud prevention.
- Local scan history remains on your device until you delete it or remove the extension.
- Account, feedback, and billing-related records are retained while needed for service operation and legal obligations.
Security
We use HTTPS/TLS for data in transit and managed infrastructure providers for hosted services.
Your Choices
You can control several parts of your data use:
- Do not submit feedback if you do not want feedback content shared.
- Delete local history from the extension settings.
- Uninstall the extension to remove local extension data.
- Contact support for account-related privacy requests.
Children
SeeWho is not intended for children under 13.
